ach morning Frank Ball reads a few comic strips to stir his creative thinking. In just a few frames, many of them tell an interesting story with beginning, middle, and end.

One of his favorite strips is B.C. by Mastroianni and Hart. Occasionally, the artists will show a daffynition in either Wiley’s Dictionary or the Book of Phrases, which Frank eagerly adds to our collection. To view the cartoon, click the daffynition.

Here are five more daffynitions that were added recently:

Paradox — What it takes to lift a patient from a stretcher

Spin Doctor — Any physician who specializes in vertigo

Voucher — Someone cited as a work reference

Eminent Domain — The Pope’s website

Heirloom — Equipment of a fourth-generation weaver
