Each morning Frank Ball reads a few comic strips to stir his creative thinking. In just a few frames, many of them tell an interesting story with beginning, middle, and end.

One of his favorite strips is B.C. by Mastroianni and Hart. Occasionally, the artists will show a daffynition in either Wiley’s Dictionary or the Book of Phrases, which Frank eagerly adds to our collection. To view the cartoon, click the daffynition.

Here are five more daffynitions that were added recently:

  • Acute Care — Having an attractive nurse
  • Brief Case — Code name for the boxer rebellion
  • Cartoons — Road trip playlist
  • Kick — The final activity on one’s bucket list
  • State of Affairs — A government body with no laws against adultery
