Brenda has been married to her high school sweetheart, Deacon Thomas J Dawson Jr. for 55 + years. They have been blessed by God’s grace and endless mercies. She is the proud mother of a son and daughter, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Brenda is a retired veteran educator from both public and catholic schools. Currently, she is a public servant and a lay minister in the Archdiocese of Miami. . Her directed path has brought comfort and hope for many, especially those who are overlooked or disenfranchised.

Since 2004, Brenda has served as the founder and CEO of I AM MINISTRIES OF MIAMI-DADE / BROWARD INC. (I AM) a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation. The mission of this organization is to restore and empower Christian family life. Through the efforts of the ministry, “Divas Destined for Greatness “, a mentoring and character development program that has served teenage girls in the Dade/Broward communities and schools for the past ten years. Additionally, monthly women empowerment gatherings are hosted in various family homes and facilitated through the efforts of “I AM”. In collaboration with other churches and organizations, Conferences, Retreats, and Workshops are organized and provided to support the ministry’s mission.

Brenda Joyce Dawson is also the author of Women’s Empowerment Hour and Divas Destined for Greatness, two support manuals that guide and direct these programs. Her newest book, Secrets Of a Lifelong  Love Affair in Marriage is designed to help couples understand and enjoy their Marriage Covenant. Brenda is a very compassionate lady and believes “everyone who finds the power of love within themselves will always leave where ever they go better than it was before!
