What If You Sent Monthly Emails for One Year?

By August 18, 2024Author News

This season is a great time to use your email list. Have you been sharing with your audience? If you haven’t, now is a GREAT time to start.

  1.  Share a story or anecdote either from the past month or what might be happening with your next book.
  2.  Include at least 1 picture.
  3. Share something inspirational from experience, from your book, or just from what the Lord has taught you – can also be a current event.
  4. Share what you’re reading right now – especially if it is a book that is in your own genre, but even if it isn’t, share the buy link and a picture of the cover, and give your honest (positive!) thoughts on it.
  5. Ask a question that pertains to one of your topics (your anecdote, your inspiration, or what you’re reading). Give them your email address (or set up a new one for just this purpose. I use the template AuthorYourName@gmail.com). Ask them to email their answer.
  6. Offer a giveaway (one of your books or an e-copy of a book you’re reading) to one of the readers who responds to your question. Most e-copies, sent by Amazon to the email you give them, are less than $6. Or you can mail your own book using Media Mail, starting at $4.13 at the USPS.

Here’s part of the email that I just sent out to my readers this week. I use MailChimp, but I’ve found that EmailOctopus (also free) gives more options.

I hope this inspires you!
